Angus - 42nd Royal Highlander Regiment

The final actions of the Napoleonic Wars, (the "Hundred Days Campaign"), in the year 1815, witnessed the 42nd and the 2/73rd taking part in the disorganized Battle of Quatre Bras on 16th June. It was also only one of four Regiments singled out by the Duke of Wellington for a special mention in his dispatches. Two days later, the Battle of Waterloo saw the forces of napoleon finally defeated. The 42nd served in Major General Pack's Brigade, which formed part of the reserve under Lieutenant General Sir Thomas Picton.
