Said to be named after a crude horn used by a popular radio comedian of the time, the US Army WWII Bazooka was an extremely effective as an anti-tank weapon and against fortified positions. Officially named the M9A1 Rocket Launcher it consisted of a 5 ft tube with a shoulder rest, handgrip and trigger and fired a high explosive rocket.
