News from Tommy's Toys

January 20, 2008

Hello everyone!

This is our first newsletter since September 2007. I would
like to start by wishing everyone a happy, healthy and
successful 2008.

Tommy’s Toys is a family owned and operated business, and
as with any family, we too have our share of personal
problems and family tragedies. 2007 was probably our
toughest and most challenging year to date. I would like to
take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to those of you
who allowed me the extra time needed, to process your
orders during some of these difficult times. Your patience,
patronage and words of encouragement were greatly
appreciated.

Now on to the real business at hand……………..

Several of my regular customers have been teasing me that
the website has been out of date for a while now. Well, I
am happy to report that after unpacking and doing inventory
on over 3 months worth of shipments for 3 days, the website
is now up to date. I would like to thank my two-year-old
daughter, Katherine, for allowing me the time to do this
without requiring me to play ‘hide and seek’ with her,
every twenty minutes. Special thanks also go out to, ‘Dora
the Explorer’, ‘Yo Gabba Gabba’, and ‘The Backyardigans’,
who helped out immensely in this area. With the addition of
Rebecca to the family on December 21st, 2007, I know that I
will be calling upon Dora and friends many times again for
their assistance, in the not so distant future.

Interest in Dragon Models Action Figures continues to drop
but they have recently released what I think is their best
figure in months. Corporal Stan Wiley, WWII 101st Airborne
MP is a subject not covered by many and a figure that was
on the wish lists of so many people. This figure is very
well done and the accessories are also great.
DiD continues to introduce excellent quality figures and
their recent release of ‘John Colman’ WWII British Officer,
will not disappoint. The ‘Vickers’ gun itself is amazing.
Next up from DiD is ‘Erwin Rommel’ which also looks to be
an interesting piece.
One New company starting to turn out several figures of
very good quality and detail is ‘Soldier Story’ out of Hong
Kong. Their modern day American Military figures are much
sought after and are indeed incredible. Next to be released
from them is the ‘Saw Gunner’. These will only be
distributed in limited quantities so if you have interest
in this piece, I recommend a ‘pre-order’ on it.
Ignite.co just finished up their exhibit at the Hong
Kong International Toy Show and displayed prototypes of
many new and interesting figures in production. Some of you
will be very excited by some of Ignite’s offerings. As of
late, Ignite seem to be pumping out figures rather rapidly
(unlike their usual 1 figure every 6 months) so we may see
some of these interesting pieces sooner rather than later.

For pictures and info. on all of the pieces mentioned
above, be sure to stop by our site.

Like the Airlines say, “We know that you have several
choices when choosing to fly”, but we do appreciate when
you shop at ‘Tommy’s Toys’.

Thank you and until next time, so long.
